Worship & Tech Team Auditions

Interested in joining our Harbor Worship & Tech team? Set up a day to audition by contacting ashley@northharborchurch.com. Auditions typically take place on an available Sunday after the 10:30 am service. In the meantime, read the audition preparations below.

Preparing For Your Audition

Instruments (Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano)*

– Download the Audition Resources below, and you will play “House of the Lord” in G

*If you play an instrument not listed above, we still want to hear from you! From time to time, we have need for different instrumentation. This includes, but is not limited to, cello, violin, trombone, trumpet, saxophone, banjo, and mandolin.

Male Vocals

– Download the Audition Resources below, and you will sing “House of the Lord” in G
– Please also be prepared to sing a verse and chorus of a song of your choice a cappella (no accompaniment)
– Please also be prepared to be asked if you can hear/sing the harmony (Tenor or Bass) line to a song.

Female Vocals

– Download the Audition Resources below, and you will sing “House of the Lord” in C
– Please also be prepared to sing a verse and chorus of a song of your choice a cappella (no accompaniment)
– Please also be prepared to be asked if you can hear/sing the harmony (Alto or Soprano) line to a song.

What To Expect:

• Before the audition, you will be able to hear the heart and vision of Harbor Worship & Tech. You may also be asked to share a little about yourself and your desire to be a part of the team.
• You will sing/play with the track, which will include all other instruments along with the click and cues. This is why it is crucial for you to have practiced with the click & cues MP3 provided.
• You will sing/play through the full song (House of the Lord) unless otherwise directed.
• You will plug your headphones into a personal in-ear monitor called a P-16, which will allow you to mix what you’re hearing in your headphones.
• Vocalists: Expect to sing melody and possibly harmonies to test your vocal range and ability to blend.
• Instrumentalists: Expect to have other tracks lowered at times to hear your instrument and ability.
• Key Things That Will Be Observed: Rhythm, Timing, Dynamics, and Pitch (Vocalists)

What Is Needed:

• Authenticity & Humility!
• Wired Headphones (can be any type). If you’d like a recommendation for an affordable in-ear monitor for the purpose of this audition, click below.
• In-Ear Monitor Headphones
• Instrumentalists: Drums & Piano are provided; all other instruments will need to be your own
• Lyrics and/or Chords
  (These will be provided but feel free to have your own as well, based off of preference)
• Prepared to state your name and why you want to be a part of Harbor Worship & Tech
