What We Believe

We adopt the following as the articles of our faith.

The Scriptures
Our church affirms that the Bible has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error for its matter. We agree that all Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is himself the focus of divine revelation.

God
Our church affirms that there is only one living and true God, and that the eternal triune God reveals himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We affirm that each person of the Trinity has distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Man
Our church affirms that humanity is the special creation of God and that he created male and female, thus rendering the gift of gender as part of the goodness of his creation. We affirm that every human being is created in the image of God and that every person of
every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

Salvation
Our church affirms that salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. We further affirm that there is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

The Church
Our church affirms that a New Testament church is an autonomous local congregation
of believers who are baptized by immersion, that there are two scriptural offices in the church, pastors (also called elder or bishop) and deacons. While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.

The Family
Our church affirms that Christian marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a covenant commitment that is intended to last a lifetime.
